how do you move on when you were with someone for 8 years and he is a herion addict so you know you can not go back to him even though he claims he is clean.How do you move on from the love of your life?
It takes time. There is a lot of soul searching, finding yourself again and regaining confidence. I'll have to tell you that it's not easy. Do things that you enjoy, go spend some time with friends and family. They will be your rock until you are able to stand alone again. Take care and do things for yourself.How do you move on from the love of your life?

remind yourself why you aren't with him anymore. cut off all contact with him. try to go out more, and meet new people.... try yahoo.personals...it worked great for me... i'm now with the guy who i am going to marry! and i'm not sure if alanon is for anyone else but alcoholics, but you could check that out too... especially if you end thinking about going back out with him... dont just settle for ';i swear, i'm clean!';
